“This is a ballgame that has already started, and we should have the rules ironed out by the third inning.” This statement was made to me once by a regulatory employee. This person was trying to help us with a new environmental issue and appeared to be as anxious as we were to find out how the new regulations would impact our clients.
It appears that new environmental regulations and interpretations are being developed on a monthly basis. PennTerra’s Environmental Department is constantly attending forums and training programs to keep our clients’ projects current with all the new policies. From stormwater recharge requirements to the need for downstream stormwater conveyance easements and the new Chesapeake Bay requirements, the environmental aspects of land development projects are critical both in terms of the project’s design and the approval timeline. PennTerra strives to keep our clients informed of all new impacts on projects and we send out letters to our clients informing them of these impacts.
